Karl Richter was an officer in the United States Air Force and an accomplished fighter pilot during the Vietnam War. At the age of 23 he was the youngest pilot in that conflict to shoot down a MiG in air-to-air combat. Details such as his flight suit with various patches are present to give the figure a touch of what Richter looked like. On the base, his name along with some of the patches worn are included to help tell Richter's story.
